The National Lottery Draw Show host, Jenni Falconer recently visited Home-Start Camden to promote the National Lottery 2012 and met some of the
scheme’s families, volunteers, Trustees and staff.
During February, Home-Start Camden received some excellent coverage onnational TV. On Channel 4’s “Loose Women”, Jenni explained: “I went to Camden this week to Home-Start, which is a brilliant volunteer project where people who have had new babies or children under five, basically get a volunteer come to their house to help you. It’s hard work being a parent and some people who don’t have friends or family around need help so this project is brilliant.”
Jenni Falconer also praised our work on Channel 5’s ‘Live with Gabby Logan’: “I went just to help out at Home-Start Camden and saw how their volunteers are trained and matched to families.”
Home-Start Camden is also delighted to have been awarded a second 3-year grant from the Big Lottery for a total of £298,000 to continue its vital preventative work with Camden families with young children who are under pressure. This fund will enable us to recruit, train and support even more volunteers to visit families and improve family life in the borough.
