Putting together this account of the first 20 years Home-Start Camden (HSC) has been a pleasurable and emotional experience. The fantastic work done by volunteers
continues to make families get stronger. The volunteers take their family support to
new levels via their home visits and on-going commitment from the staff group – Jackie, Rosemary, Saiqa, Anna, Mina, led by Cathy. The number of families supported grows as does the complexity of the issues tackled. Community remains central to all that we do. We work for Camden families, living in Camden, using Camden services and facilities and most volunteers are Camden residents. Jane Fawcett – Trustee
Volunteering at HSC has been a real pleasure and given me a unique insight into not only issues that affect my local community, but allowed me to meet so many amazing people. The dedication and passion from the staff was apparent right from the start when I first met Anna at a volunteering fair, all the way through to the stories uncovered in the making of this booklet. One thing that I have learned is the positive effect that the charity has had on many families. This is something that I hope will continue and allow HSC to celebrate many more milestone birthdays.
