Our volunteer support
Each volunteer is supported by one of our co-ordinators – Jackie, Anna, Rosemary or Saiqa. All have many years of experience with Home-Start and can give support for any issues arising for volunteers and families. They conduct regular supervision with volunteers to see how things are going and to talk about the support being offered to families.
Below are some of the example forms we use with our volunteers.
This website has a special Members page for our volunteers where you can login to the page and access documents, a noticeboard, calendar and other useful areas.
Some of the comments from volunteers on training
‘This is the first time I have done this kind of thing. If I could do it again I would do it again and again until I’m 100!’
‘A great (training) group – very supportive and cohesive. I think (the training) will help me to be less judgemental. It’s also helped me to analyse myself more deeply and think about many issues.’
‘The course has made me more aware and informed about all the topics covered. It has also left me feeling more prepared, confident and ready to be a volunteer and I now believe I can do a really good job and I’m really looking forward to it.’
