Introducing the work 2014-2016 Reflecting on Home-Start Camden’s work is what we do for funders’ reports and bringing all the achievements together is what we do for this document. This review covers the activities and events of the charity for 2015 and 2016. It is hugely satisfying to see how many great moments we have created for our families in Camden.
Over the past three years we have supported hundreds of parents and children and for the vast majority helped prevent their difficulties becoming crises. Our volunteers have walked with the families through their troubled times, helped them cope more ably, increased their parental confidence and ability to get our into the community to make use of Camden’s great facilities.
The Big Lottery supported our work from all referral agencies and self-referring families, the Henry Smith Charity grant supported our partnership work with two local GP surgeries and other health professionals and the Camden Volunteering Fund helped staff capacity and the number of volunteers we trained and supervised so that we could help even more families under pressure.

Home-Start Camden organised a day out on Friday, 29th May 2015 for 40 families and volunteers to London Zoo. Despite a windy and rainy start to the day everyone had a fantastic time. One mum said, “It was lovely, I never saw my children so happy, every animal they saw was a party. Their eyes shining was joy and when I saw the happiness of my children my heart was filled with peace. Thank you so much.”
The outing was made possible with funding from the Big Lottery Awards for All Fund.
